The traditional Single Leg Stretch “Pull” begins lying on your back with your head and shoulders lifted, one leg extended long, and the opposite knee drawn toward your chest. During pregnancy, there may come a point when holding this position no longer feels comfortable or supportive—and that's perfectly okay.
In this prenatal variation, we'll use a prop, such as a stability ball or another supportive surface, to elevate the upper body and reduce the demands on the core. While the abdominal challenge becomes gentler, you'll continue to improve hip mobility, strengthen through the legs, and encourage functional movement patterns that support your body throughout pregnancy.
You may also choose to reduce your range of motion or spend more time focusing on the quality of each movement rather than the number of repetitions. As your body changes, your movement can change too.
Remember, pregnancy isn't about pushing through discomfort—it's about moving with purpose. Honor what your body is telling you each day. Even when an exercise looks different than its classical version, you're still building strength, maintaining mobility, and preparing your body for birth with intention.
