Join NowPrenatal Wall Supported Squats/Lunge
This prenatal lower-body flow focuses on strengthening the legs, hips, and pelvic support muscles through safe, supported squats and lunges. Using a wall, countertop, chair, or other stable surface, you'll improve strength and endurance while maintaining balance as your center of gravity changes throughout pregnancy.
Supported wall squats are an excellent way to develop the endurance needed for everyday movement and can also be a valuable tool for those preparing for an unmedicated or active labor. Rather than rushing through repetitions, you'll gradually work toward holding the squat position with control, allowing your body to build strength, stability, and confidence over time. For an added challenge, heel lifts can be incorporated to strengthen the calves, ankles, and feet while further improving balance.
Supported lunges provide another functional way to strengthen the lower body while improving hip mobility and stability. Whether using a countertop, chair, or elevated surface, you'll learn how simple modifications can make lunges more accessible and comfortable as your pregnancy progresses. If your body feels strong and stable, optional heel lifts can add another layer of challenge while continuing to prioritize safety and control.
Remember that pregnancy training is about consistency—not intensity. Short, intentional movement sessions throughout the day can be just as beneficial as a longer workout. Listen to your body, choose the variation that feels supportive, and never sacrifice quality for quantity. Every squat, every lunge, and every mindful breath is helping prepare your body for the incredible work of birth and recovery. Move with intention, give yourself grace, and celebrate the strength you're building every step of the way.
